Piz Bernina dominates the picturesque village of Pontresina, not far from the famous resort of St. Moritz in the canton of Grisons. At 4,049 metres above sea level, it is the highest peak in the Eastern Alps. Renowned for its breathtaking views, Piz Bernina is distinguished by the iconic Biancograt ridge, a mountaineering gem considered one of the most spectacular and elegant snow-covered ridges in the Alps.

The Half-Pinte is graduated at 2.584 dl, the altitude of the Tschierva hut, located at 2,584 m on the southern flank of the Tschierva glacier. As for the Pinte, although it can hold 5 dl, it is graduated at 4.049 dl, the altitude of the summit of Piz Bernina.
