Our glasses, shot glasses, wine glasses and carafes are made of borosilicate glass: robust, highly resistant to impact, temperature changes and chemicals, with excellent clarity. Our espresso cups and candles are made of soda-lime glass, valued for its brilliance and clarity, which highlights the relief of each peak.
The closed base 🔒 is fully sealed: water and residue cannot collect in the hollow base in the dishwasher. It is also heavier in the hand and more refined in its finish. The standard base is open underneath the glass. Closed-base items are clearly marked on their product page.
The Pinte is reserved for peaks of around 4,000 m or higher. A discreet screen print on the back of each glass shows a graduation in decilitres that matches the altitude of a key place on the mountain. For the Matterhorn: the On the Rocks is graduated at 1.620 dl (Zermatt, 1,620 m), the Half-Pinte at 3.260 dl (Hörnli hut, 3,260 m) and the Pinte at 4.478 dl (the summit, 4,478 m).
No. Our glasses are handmade: a small bubble or a slight dot in the base is part of the manufacturing process and affects neither the strength nor the use of the glass.

Our candles are hand-poured in the Jura, Switzerland, using 100% natural plant-based wax (GMO-free, vegan, made in Europe). Their scents were created by a Swiss perfumer, and their base features a 3D representation of the Matterhorn based on official topographic data. Burn time: 35 to 40 hours.

Yes. These are typical of plant-based wax and affect neither the quality, the safety nor the scent:
Small droplets on the surface: caused by temperature changes, they disappear at the first lighting and can be gently wiped off.
Frosting: a natural texture due to the absence of chemical additives, with no effect on burning.
Air pockets between the wax and the glass: caused by temperature changes, purely visual.
